ExRx.net vs Fitbod
Two tools coaches often weigh against each other, compared on the same terms.
ExRx.net
A long-running exercise encyclopaedia with muscle-by-muscle indexes, kinesiology notes and instructions — a reference library rather than a coaching app.
Fitbod
An AI workout app that generates sessions from a user's equipment, goals and recovery — a useful benchmark for what clients get without a coach.

What it is
ExRx.net
An old-fashioned, deeply indexed exercise directory: pick a muscle, get every exercise that trains it, with mechanics, joint actions and instructions. It looks like it was built in 2003 because much of it was, which is not a criticism.
Fitbod
A consumer training app that builds each workout on the fly, adjusting exercise choice, sets and load based on logged history and which muscles are recovered.
Best for
ExRx.net
Checking your own understanding before you prescribe something, and finding regressions or variations when a client cannot perform the obvious movement.
Fitbod
Understanding the competition. Many clients have tried an app like this — know what it does well so you can explain what coaching adds: context, technique and accountability.
Watch out for
ExRx.net
It is a reference, not a programme. The presentation is dated, and some of the deeper material sits behind a membership.
Fitbod
It is built for self-coached users, not for coaches to deliver programmes. For client delivery, use a coaching platform; for your own awareness, the trial is enough.
